Dene: The SideWinder is easy to use; you do not have to unthread your sewing machine to wind your bobbins. It is small and can easily be taken to workshops or retreats. It will run on batteries or electricity. It will not work with all bobbins. I used a Janome Bobbin and a Featherweight Bobbin and it wound perfect. It will not work on a Viking Machine. I did try to use the large cone of thread and found it did not wind evenly. The smaller spool should be used. I take my small Janome to workshops and retreats. Rating: Diane:
I found the SideWinder quite easy to use -- just follow the 3 step
instructions on the side of the box. It will be great to wind all the bobbins
beforehand for retreats and classes. I also tested on Janome and singer metal
bobbins for the featherweight and there were no problems getting a full
bobbin wound from standard sized spools of thread. Downside: When I tried to
use larger spools of thread the bobbin didn’t wind evenly nor would it wind
more than 50% of the bobbin. Also, you can not use Viking, Pfaff and some
Singer bobbins on this SideWinder model which is disappointing. Rating: Guild member testimonial from Susie B.: This is the best little gadget I’ve purchased in years. I’ve always hated stopped in the middle of a project and unthreading my machine just to wind another bobbin. With the SideWinder you can do exactly as the title says--wind bobbins at the side of your machine or even at leisure in your favorite easy chair. No more being tied to the machine! It runs on batteries or electrical power. I love it. It’s handy, portable and CUTE! |
