Quilting Charities

In our Huntsville guild, we make and donate quilts to several local organizations, but there are many groups that collect quilts for both national and international causes. Some groups make and collect quilts that honor a specific loved one, such as with the AIDS Name Quilt, the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative, and Freedom Quilts.
Making quilts specifically for the homeless is the cause of Ugly Quilts just as Quilts of Valor makes quilts for wounded soldiers or for grieving military families, and Project Linus contributes quilts to seriously ill children.
The HeartStrings Quilt Project brings together an online quilt group that donates scrappy string quilts to a variety of causes. And the Binky Patrol makes all sizes of quilts and gives them to infants, children, and teens in need around the country.
