Basic Supplies for HQH Workshops

• sewing machine
• bobbins
• foot pedal
• power cord
• arm extension table
• multiple-outlet power strip extension cord with built in surge protector (best case!)
• presser feet for the sewing machine: quarter-inch and standard (others based on class requirements)
• lint brush for machine (to clean bobbin area during sewing in class)

• f abric scissors, paper scissors, thread snips
• 24" x 18" or larger rotary cutting mat (HQH supplies several large cutting mats for workshops)
• acrylic rulers: 6" x 24" ; 6" x 12" ; 6.5" square
• rotary cutter with sharp blade and replacement blade

• 1 or 2 spools sewing thread to coordinate with fabrics -- wind 1-2 bobbins in advance
• machine needles -- size 90/14 or 80/12 (Quilting or Sharp)
• seam ripper
• pins/pincushion
• marking instruments (pencil, blue water-erase marker, markers for light and dark fabrics, chalk, permanent micron-type pen, etc)
• stiletto

• digital camera
• chair cushion to elevate you for better sewing height
• small desk lamp or clip-on light
• pencil and notebook for taking notes
• starch or spray bottle of water
• tweezers
• small screwdriver
• quart or gallon zip top bags for project pieces
• paper lunch sack for sewing trash
• scotch tape, masking tape
• pressing pad/board & iron (HQH supplies several ironing boards and irons for workshops)
